Event Information:

Starting at Berrow beach car park there is a nice run along Brean Sands which is one of the longest stretches of beach in the country. We will then ascend Brean Down and run the trails and see Roman temples, an Iron Age Fort and the famous Palmerston Fort which can accessed.  The run is approx 17Km with approx 200M of elevation.  The beach run is a great warm up and cool down too.  Bring your towel if you would like a paddle at the end!  Please car share if possible it’s a very small (but free) car park. You car arrange car sharing on the Members Facebook Group.

Approximate Elevation: 250m

Expected Terrain: Rocky and dirt trails

Run Leader: Rob Umphray

Entry Requirements: You should be able to run 17k at a steady pace. We will walk most of the steep hills.

Essential Kit:

  • Trail running shoes
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather
  • Waterproof jacket if necesarry
  • Minimum 500ml of water (more if it's hot)
  • Some form of sodium in food or drink
  • Minimum 200kcal of food
  • Spare, warm change of clothes in the car
  • Spare food and drink in the car
  • A fully charged phone

Recommended Extra Kit:

  • First Aid Kit
  • Foil Blanket
