About Bristol Trail Runners
Bristol Trail Runners is an adventure running club suitable for all abilities, from beginners to elite athletes. Founded in 2019 by Ultrarunner and Endurance Coach Joe Wenman, the club has thrived with over three hundred runners joining us at one point or another.
The club organises a grand collection of trail running events. Local club runs, further afield club runs, webinars, coached training sessions, running camps and more. Members take advantage of attending all of these events while also receiving discounts on almost any product or service related to running.
Joining a running club is a great way to socialise, keep fit and better your running skills as part of Bristols adventure running community. Anyone is welcome to join BTR. Hit the button below or scroll down to read more about the club.
We organise over 20 club events every month. Times and days of runs differ to make sure everyone can make some of them. There is plenty to keep you busy! Our local club runs take place in Leigh Woods, Ashton Court, Frome Valley, Trym Valley, Stoke Park and Clifton Downs. We also take regular weekend trips to the Brecon Beacons, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Quantocks, Mendips and Wye Valley. A few times a year we organise running camps in locations like the Lake District, Snowdonia and Cornwall.
Coached training sessions usually take place every Tuesday at either 7am or 6pm at Clifton Downs or Leigh Woods. These sessions include interval training, hill repeats, tempo runs and circuit training. We also organise special coached sessions like introductions to mountain running and various webinars.
Events are designed for all abilities to the part, from 5k runners to ultra marathon runners.
As well as attending all of the club events, BTR members are able to enjoy a host of other excellent membership benefits. These include discounts from our partners:
Precision Hydration (15%)
Precision Fuel (15%)
Run Coaching with Joe Wenman (10%)
Sports Massage (20%)
VALA Energy (15%)
Cotswold Outdoor (15%)
Runners Need (15%)
Snow + Rock (15%)
In our opinion, the best benefit of being a BTR member is making friends, socialising, and enjoying the trails as part of a team and community.
All activities are now up and running again within a COVID secure environment. We regularly check guidance updates from the government and Sport England and follow this guidance carefully.
It is important that members bring a face mask and hand sanitiser to every BTR event, was their hands regularly, and socially distance as much as possible. Please do not attend any club events if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
